MUSICAL PILLAGE OF THE LOW COUNTRIES
With Sonic Soirée, every month we go in search of that one band that sticks out head and shoulders above the Low Countries. This time, these bands fit perfectly into our HACK/PLAY month.
TIN MEN AND THE TELEPHONE (NL) - Three musicians who are at home in (modern) classical music, hip-hop, Balkan and jazz. The group make music using everyday sounds, from GPS to NS (Dutch Rail), and invite you during the concert to take part using a smartphone app.
DIJF SANDERS (BE) - Familiar from Teddiedrum and The Violent Husbands, Dijf is back – this time with dark, exorcising exotica. Expect an overdose of home-made musical instruments with Asiatic influences.
KENJI MINOGUE (BE) - Get ready for a full-on crazy show filled with kitsch, humour and electroclash. The West-Flemish dialect is back, after never really leaving. It’s finally Holland’s turn to get a piece of what Flemish festivals have been feasting on.
